Prepare to Compute INSET
Computing introduces
the systematic teaching of computer science into the primary national
curriculum for the first time. Don't panic; it's a bit of a paper tiger -lots of intimidating words for things that most teachers will  be familiar with already. This course provides a 'non-techie' overview of the new discipline and offers practical activities that every teacher can use in teaching the new subject.

Programming Challenge INSET
Aimed at staff with no experience of programming this session introduces key concepts and practices in computing in a fun and engaging way. As staff compete in teams to design and program computer games they will be introduced to approaches to computer programming such as iteration and concepts such as loops and conditionals. Concluding with a highly charged (no doubt) games fair, staff will have the chance to share and reap (chocolate) rewards!

Robotics Challenge INSET

An active session aimed at
schools that would like to teach Computing using robots or simply provide
staff with an opportunity to see how robots can be used to support learning in Computing and Design & Technology. Staff will construct robots, learn to program them and take part in a robot contest. After the dust settles we will reflect on the potential for robotics to inspire and engage even the most reluctant learner.

Other sessions available on request include:
Class Blogging, E-Safety, Clicker 6, interactive whiteboards, film making, radio program making, animation and photography.
